Point-of-Care Diagnostic Products for Biosense Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
Biosense was a medical devices startup, founded by engineers, doctors and designers to tackle anemia and diabetes in semi-urban and rural sector. With the backing of IIT-Bombay and IIM-Ahmedabad, Biosense was on the verge of scaling up when I was called to work mainly on streamlining the application UIs of their smart devices. With the departure of the beloved Chief Designer/ Co-founder, the small R&D team found itself helming the NPD of a host of new devices whilst also looking after the current range of devices. Within a short span of a year, the team managed to launch two new glucometers, a hemoglobinometer and a multitude of applications that tied together the whole Biosense environment. The stint here also included trying to implement a company wide design strategy and concept generation for future range of products viz. multi-parameter diagnostic device and a CBC analyser.
(Biosense is now a subsidiary of a bigger company, but the places it could have gone... )
